Rosacea Relief: Navigating Solutions for Calm, Clear Skin

What Is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a common skin condition that primarily affects the face. It causes redness, flushing, and sometimes small, red bumps or pimples. In simple terms, you can think of rosacea as a condition where the skin on your face becomes easily irritated and turns red.

Rosacea can be a chronic condition, meaning it tends to persist over time. However, its severity can vary, with some people experiencing mild symptoms and others having more noticeable effects on their skin. It's important to note that rosacea is not contagious, meaning you can't catch it from someone else.

Rosacea is caused by something called the Demodex mite. The demodex mite feeds on dead skin cells and oils (sebum) that are produced by the sebaceous glands. It's believed that they play a role in maintaining a balance of microorganisms on the skin by consuming these skin cells and oils. However, in some cases an overabundance of these mites may contribute to skin issues like rosacea.

There are certain factors that can trigger or worsen it. These triggers can vary from person to person, but common ones include sunlight, heat, spicy foods, alcohol, and stress. Treating this condition often involves addressing the underlying factors that contribute to their proliferation.

How to Treat Rosacea

In our clinic we have had success in treating clients with Rosacea.  The first thing we do is boost the immune system of the skin so, your immune system can prevent the proliferation of the demodex mite, next we create an unwelcoming environment for the demodex mite to thrive in and lastly we use Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) laser to eliminate any broken capillaries that may be residue from the condition.
